JASCO Battery Specialists, Inc. came from humble beginnings; a few dollars of my own, a few
more dollars from a brother-in-law, a few things that I learned from my father "work hard,
be honest and don't throw good money after bad" and a dream. The dream was to operate my own
business and to treat customers, employees and vendors the way I like to be treated; with honesty
and respect. Our first warehouse was my garage, our office was my attic, both were hot in the
summer and cold in the winter. Over the years thanks to many loyal customers, hard working
employees and generous vendors our company has grown considerably. Our growth has allowed us to
provide our customers with a high level of service and in stock battery solutions.
I am proud to say that our batteries have been used successfully to film climbers at the peak
of Mount Everest, to power electronics in submersibles that map the floor of the Atlantic
ocean, to operate cameras, servo and drive motors in bomb squad robots, to warm babies in
portable incubators, and to light the means of egress and provide power for critical
communications during power outages. Recently we have shipped batteries and chargers to
Iraq to be used in rebuilding the infrastructure of that country.
Our motto- Batteries for Almost Anything!
I don't miss that first warehouse without heat in the winter or the roasting hot office in the
summer, what I do miss is the enjoyment of talking with each and every customer. Now we have
several dedicated and highly qualified customer support specialists that enjoy talking to our
customers. However I still pick up the phone sometimes to serve customers and any customer
can contact me directly if they desire. What has taken the place of that close contact with
each customer is the satisfaction that comes from helping to build and being a part of an
organization that places honesty and service before profit.

1. Honesty- We do not sell a product unless we believe that it will perform the job for which
is intended, if we don’t have the right battery we will tell you so. Sometimes we make an error,
if we discover it first we call you, we don’t wait for you to call us. We quote realistic lead
times and if we say we are going to do something, we do it.
2. Service- Our minimum level of service is: The right product, at
the right price, to the right location, right on time. We strive to
exceed that minimum level on each and every order. An example of our
devotion to service is when UPS went on strike for two weeks. Overnight
we contracted for three trucks and six drivers to deliver shipments
throughout the strike. It was darned expensive but it sure made for
happy customers and we had the satisfaction of knowing we were doing
what our competitors could not or would not do. Most of all, we treat
customers with respect, kind of simple, but it works and it just plain
feels right.
3. Profit- Profit is 3rd for a reason; if we are honest and perform high quality service I believe
that we will make a profit so that we can continue as a company.
4. Compensation- if we perform the first three values well then we will have the means to compensate
the valuable members of our organization and their families with the salary and benefits that they deserve.
"A company without values as a guiding force is like a river without banks, a big puddle"
- John Savage President JASCO Battery Specialists, Inc.
